A $1 million motorcycle accident settlement was agreed upon is a case where a truck driver, trying to change lanes, hit a man riding his motorcycle.

The truck driver, operating his employer’s truck, was in the left-turn lane when the driver changed his mind and tried to merge into the traveling lane. The 27-yr old rider of the motorcycle was traveling toward the 4-way intersection in Canton when the truck collided with him. The man was thrown from his motorcycle and fractured his left leg. The rider also had to have a procedure done to have his left ankle permanently fused.

The plaintiffs claimed that the truck driver was negligent by illegally changing lanes, causing an accident and personal injury. The rider is able to work, but argued that his potential income capacity has been lowered due to the accident.
